I’m Stuart, a photographer based in Newent, Gloucestershire. I spent fifteen years living in London, where my work was shaped by architecture, structure and the quiet order of the built environment. I was drawn to concrete, clean lines and the small details most people walk past without noticing.

Moving to the Forest of Dean changed the way I see things, with almost no brutalist geometry to chase, my focus shifted toward people and movement. Sport, especially local village rugby, became the place where I found the same clarity and rhythm I used to look for in architecture. It is still structure, just expressed through bodies, atmosphere and the honesty of action.

My style leans toward minimalism. Intentional framing, controlled light and a preference for images that feel calm even when the subject is anything but. Whether it is a shadow cutting across a wall, a quiet moment on match day or the split second impact of a tackle, I look for the point where clarity meets emotion.

I approach every frame with restraint and purpose. It is less about spectacle and more about presence. Slowing down, noticing and letting the story reveal itself. My aim is to create images that invite people to pause, feel something real and see familiar moments with fresh attention.
